The initial concept of this image was to show a guitar lying on a pile of leaves however as I began to edit I came up with some great effects and as a result I felt this effect looked great and would fit perfectly with our brand image. I wanted to produce something creative and beyond the ordinary as the rest of our digipak was also very artistic and creative.

I began by carefuly cutting around the guitar using the 'cutting' tool and deleting the chair background. Once I had erased the background I created a separate layer below the one of the guitar as an 'overlay'. In this image I placed the image of the leaves. However the image of the leaves was not very bright and was very dull as they were image of autumn leaves that we had shot back when our project first started. They were very brown and dull and did not look very effective. So I altered the colour grading and changed the brightness and contrast of the layer of leaves. I also created a seperate 'overlay' layer on which I painted different autumn colours (red, yellow, orange) and blurred them out so that those bright colours reflect in the leaves. You were then able to see the bright leaves through the guitar and also the background.

The guitar however stood out too much against the background so I altered the transparacy of the guitar using the 'opacity' levels tool. I was able to gain the right effect that I wanted of the leaves showing through the guitar. I also further changed the brightness of the guitar so that the colour blends in more with the rest of the image.

As you can see the right hand side of the guitar looks as if it is placed in between the leaves rather than jus placed on top. I though this looks much more effective as it seems like one side of the guitar is buried on leaves. to achieve this effect I blurred out the side of the guitar with the leaves using 'fragment blur'. This created a great effect.

I am very proud of the result of my image and feel that it fits in well with the rest of the digipak.
